This original piece hits home for me because it is literally my home. I grew up at the top of St. Tammany parish in Sun, Louisiana and drove through Downtown Covington daily to high school (CHS). 
 
On this 18x24 varnished, hand-painted canvas I captured 24 of the most prevalent small businesses/buildings/landmarks that always caught my eye. Even though Marsolan's Feed & Seend burnt down in 2021, I had to include it in my painting (fall 2022). From the landing to the old movie theatre, I thoroughly enjoyed walking around town for a few hours to take pictures of each space to include in the painting. 
 
I pray it goes to a forever home that feels as nostalgic about it as I do.
